Biography :-

Bury the Silence is a technical death-metal band from Michigan, formed by Roger Gundy and Josh Hibbs. The band consists of Addrok Garvey on vocals, Josh Hibbs on Bass, Roger Gundy and Corey Bradfield on guitars, and Brett Barrett on drums. Ever since the addition of vocalist, Addrok, Bury the Silence has made a substantial name for themselves in the Michigan metal scene, has received nothing but positive feedback, and even some awards from Michigan's biggest metal critic, Metal Doc Brown: "YOU MUST SEE BURY THE SILENCE'S INCREDIBLE STAGE SHOW!!" They have had the pleasure to share the stage with bands such as Emmure, Chimaira, Impending Doom, Battlecross, As They Sleep, This or The Apocalypse, Salt the Wound, Bless the Fall, Legend, Daath and many more! Having recently signed to Rogue Records and about to release their new EP, Bury the Silence are extremely determined to make the world know who they are!

This evening Addrok answers some of our Questions for our EUMSN Family..

Vishal - What are you doing nowadays, any recordings, shows or tour?
Addrok - Just released our Architecture of Struggle EP, we are playing a lot of Michigan (USA) dates right now. Our Manager is planing a Northwest US tour for January and we got a couple things that we are working on as far as tours for Spring and summer.

Vishal - Can you tell us about the journey of your band till date?
Addrok - Just working our asses off try to get our brand of music out to as many people as possibly. Roger Gundy II and Josh Hibbs started this band a few years back. BTS has been through some member changes and is going stronger than ever with the current members. We are trying to all hone our skills and put out the best metal we can with the resources and abilities we have. We are always trying to learn new things and grow.

Vishal - How it feels to be in underground metal?
Addrok - It feels good. Everyone we run into is genuinely good ppl. It feels good to be apart of a Music scene that is made up of mostly our peers. It takes away from the WOW factor that is in other more mainstream genres of music. Even the Bigger more popular bands now a days in the metal scene you can meet, hang out with and wax about metal at shows.

Vishal - Well EUMSN would really appreciate if you tell us more about your music and recommend us some bands from your homeland?
Addrok - Our music is cross breed of everything we are influence by in mostly, extreme metal/underground metal but we take influence from other generas as well. Other bands your should check out. The Bloody Conclusion, Battlecross, Neqriem, Infinite Design, As They Sleep, The Omega Experiment, Withhold the Blood, Corpserot, Brutal Assault, Synthetic Breed, Genocya, Halo Of Gunfire, Scartographer and Death Artery (all of these bands are friends of our, so please give them a listen) Also please check out out label Rogue Records America. Dean Martinetti, Raymond Herrera (Fear Factory) are working hard for us and have a lot of good music that they are gonna release in the future. They have made it their goal to help get a lot of underground bands off the ground.

Vishal - How is the Local metal scene out there and Do you like it?
Addrok - It has it's pluses and minuses, more pluses though. It is like a brotherhood/sisterhood. If you miss a metal show around here you kick yourself. You feel guilt about missing a great show, guilt about all the great friends you missed and all the great friends you could have met. Minuses are some crappy shows here and there where you have to fight with shitty bar owners or promoters to get your cut of the money that was made. But fuck it, it's well worth it.

Vishal -  Ok, tell us where do our readers can buy your music and other merchandise?
Addrok - All on line. CM Distro, Rouge Records America Site, Facebook, Bandcamp -  http://roguerecordsamerica.bandcamp.com/album/bury-the-silence-the-architecture-of-struggle  ... cmdistro - http://www.cmdistro.com/Item/Bury_The_Silence_-_The_Architecture_of_Struggle_-EP-/43540

Vishal -  What are the future plans of the band?
Addrok - We are writing a full length right now. Planing tours/shows and hanging out listening to metal.

Vishal -  Do you hate anything?
Addrok - Not really I get my aggregations out on stage. Like anything? Love LOVE LOVE Playing live, causing destruction on stage!!!

Vishal - Which is the album you want to take inside your grave?
Addrok - Oh man, that is a hard one..... I would go with Faith No More-Angel Dust I'm a huge Mike Patton fan... no wait At The Gates- Slaughter of the Souls, yeah that is an album I could die with.... Or maybe the Faceless Planetary Duality..... No Slayer South of Heaven...... FUCK!! that is a tough one. Maybe Cryptopsy's the Whisper Supremacy??? Guess we'll see when I'm dead LOL

Vishal - You are still unheard in Nepal, do you have any plans to come here in near future?
Addrok - We wanna make our best efforts to go anywhere and everywhere in the world we can get to. We would love to visit Nepal someday. "People of Nepal Check out Bury the Silence, Give us a listen and see if it's something you would like. thank you" (steps off podium)

Vishal - List of the Bands that you really appreciate from your homeland?
Addrok - Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, the Faceless, Faith No More, Cattle Decapitation, BrainDrill, Battlecross, The Black Dahlia Murder, Death, Charred Walls of the Damned, the Omega Experiment, Summon, All Shall Perish, Molotov Solution, Everything and every band James Murphy was in or a part of.

Vishal - Beside Bury The Silence you have any other projects?
Addrok - I've been in bands in the past, me and my cousin Jason Ingersoll started Infinite Design some years back before i left (Check out I.D.) I really put all my time into BTS right now. I do guest vocals here and there for some of my friends bands (The Bloody Conclusion, Kill Tomorrow, As They Sleep) In the future I would like to get a side band going, just to stretch my vocal range. But if I did it would be nothing like BTS. I wanna push my self to the limits.

Vishal - Can you tell us about your Discographies?
Addrok - Well I did vocals on the first Infinite Design album the Architect, Enrapture-Prelude to Darkness (You can find some of them songs on you tube) And the newest Bury the Silence EP Architecture of Struggle some other stuff that I'm not even sure how to get my hands on any more.

Vishal - In general term Extreme metal isn't appreciated by Society what do you have to say on this?
Addrok - It's a good thing and a bad thing. It's good cause it's ours. No outsiders understand it. And that's cool, we have our own little community. And in the music we almost have our own language. The outsides complain about not understanding the vocals, well good, go fuck yourself. And they say the music is to fast. I don't under stand some of the things in other cultures, but don't mach it. I either try to learn about it or I move on with my life with out judgment. It's bad that they don't understand or appreciate it due to money. And money is few and far between. Lets face it, if it had more popularity, there would be more money to go around and more ppl could have a carrier in metal entertainment industry. I'm not against that. How ever I am against the compromise that would have to take place in order to gain a high level of popularity. If we could all make metal, listen to metal and make a little more money, more of us would do it. Extreme metal, music from the heart. And that is something we as a metal society are not willing to compromise on.

Vishal - Ok, what do you want to tell those peoples who rips off your hard work?
Addrok - Um don't....... please. Come buy it, it's real cheep. I'm not for it, but if some kid steals our music then loves it, buys a shirt, tells his friends and then later comes back and buys the physical CD, I think all will be forgiving. Downloading to me is kinda like the tape trading circuit in the 80's

Vishal - Do you appreciate those fans who downloads your music?
Addrok - I appreciate anybody who takes time outta their life to listen to my band, as does the rest of the BTS guys. But please listen to all our songs. Read our lyrics, they are brutal and unforgiving but yet hopeful. Come talk to me or BTS on facebook. But truthfully all real metal heads know that there is nothing like holding a physical CD in your hand. Seeing the art work and smelling the insert fresh out of the package. That's true metal my friends. And those people we all appreciate a little more.

Vishal - How hard it's surviving in Underground Metal Scene?
Addrok - Maybe one of the hardest struggles I've ever taken on in my life.

Vishal - In near days,if any bands from Nepal approach you for a Split Album are you going to approve this?
Addrok - At this point it's up to our label. They advise us on what is good for us and we mull over their advise and then do what we feel is best for our band. that gives us more time to Concentrate on shows and writing music. I would not be opposed to it. I love being apart of the bigger picture.

Vishal - Metal has to be underground or metal has to go mainstream, what's your opinion?
Addrok - See question and answer 14. I feel it can be good or bad, both ways. I'm not an elitist as far as popularity goes. But I don't think it's not worth the dumbing down or changing of it in order for it to go more mainstream
