Jonathan - What makes a good Grind/Death metal band?
AM - A band with members that in unison keep the music fast, hard, aggressive, brutally true and never trendy.

Jonathan - What's your opinion of the DIY movement?
AM - It's mandatory! To us it was never a movement, its something natural you have to do in order to make your band function. It's like anything else in life.. sometimes you want something done, you have to do it yourself, right? No one else is going to hold your hand, you have to put in the work.
Jonathan - Why is it so important for you to be in a band and do you have any funny stories to tell?
AM - It's very important. For us, we're friends first and bandmates second. So hanging out and jamming together is all in the same. We can't think of anything more fun in this life. It's that thing that keeps us motivated and we love it. Plenty of stories to tell.. haha, crazy and funny shit happens out there when you're playing shows. For example, one time in Oakland, Ca, we were playing a show at The Stork Club. We were all out front before the show having a cigarette, when what appeared to be a twacked out homeless guy was walking in the middle of the busy street. A CHP (California Highway Patrol) car was driving up behind the man and got on his loud speaker saying "Hey crackhead, get out of the road!" We all started dying of laughter. It was pretty hilarious.

Jonathan - What's the origin of the band name, Accidentally Murdered ?
AM - The name came up from thinking up song names that were comedic yet brutal. We didn't have a name at this point. The name one was brought up one day in the band room and we thought it was funny. Like, I've heard of someone getting accidentally killed, but how do you accidentally MURDER someone? The name was real catchy for us, we thought it would stick in people's heads.

Jonathan - Have you changed the band's name before?
AM - Nope, it's been the same name from the beggining. However, some of the songs were products of my old project. We kept those because they have the same feel.. we have always kept this genre true, it will stay real.

Jonathan - Who are your major influences? Or do you just write what you like and that is the result?
AM - Plenty of influences no doubt. We enjoy too many to name. Influences have played a major role in our lives and we thank our favorite bands for that. But when we write, we grind. We bounce riffs off eachother.. guitars, drums, bass .. we have fun and get our result.

Jonathan - How long have you all known each other?
AM - Two are actual family (uncle,nephew).. the rest of us have known eachother so long that its like we're all family.
Jonathan - How did you meet?
AM - Some of us in elementary, some in high school, and some in diapers.

Jonathan - When did you form your band?
AM - Started as a side project in June of '04. But it actually feels like we just got our shit together.

Jonathan - What inspired you to make music together?
AM - We're all on the same page. We write what we want to hear, we all have the same musical vibe and lucky for us we play the different instruments to form a band.

Jonathan - Im sure some countries or crowds are more enthusiastic than others, do you have any particular anecdotes to tell us? Any funny moments? Disappointments?
AM - Funny moments? YES. Disappointments? THEY HAPPEN. In this business, its whatever's next. We'll keep some things private, just know its been a fuckin' wild ride!

Jonathan - Do you ever play any covers?
AM - We used to play "Streaks of Blood" by Bophamet a while back. Messed around with some "Vengence Unleashed" by Dying Fetus and "When Satan Rules His World" by Deicide .. but we're mainly busy watching football and writing our own stuff.

Jonathan - Who writes your songs?
AM - Everyone. The riffs can come from anyone here and there. Everyone just starts freestyling. Next thing you know, we're jammin' having a good 'ol time and poof... a song is born. Guitars play an important role to starting that process most of the time.

Jonathan - What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs?
AM - Comedy/horror and real shit. We make them gruesome, but most of it is what happens in real life. For example, "Flesh Eating Semen" describes a rapist in action and some of the things that go through his mind. "Vaginal Battery" is just about sex.

Jonathan - Do you think these topics will change over time?
AM - Not likely. Fucked up things will always happen in this world. Its sad, but true. So we'll keep writing the brutal truth. However, its about what we're really in the mood for.. so it can be anything. Whatever comes to mind will proceed.
Jonathan - Could you briefly describe the music-making process?
AM - Example: Say I start fucking around (guitar) with something in my head.. Evil (drums) will follow and so forth. We pause to discuss, but freestyle is our style. Its all off the top of the head, then we knick knack it to start practicing it as a song. Also, communication between all of us is key. We run everything by everyone to make sure we are all satisfied moving forward.
Jonathan - What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
AM - Tuesdays and Thursdays officially are drinking, hanging out, bullshiting, smoking, and grinding our worries away days. We may sneak Saturdays in there too. But its a fucking awesome time practicing and kicking back at Chuck's(guitarist/jamspot).
Jonathan - How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?
AM - It has evolved into something much easier now. The flow is great and naturally you get better with time. But there will always be growth, so we have to keep on grindin'.
Jonathan - What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
AM - The biggest challenge for us is finances. Apart from having fun and playing gigs, you have the business side of it all. Equipment, recording, materials, gas, etc. Money will always be an obstacle, but we find ways overcome that. Some of us work, some slang.. whatever it takes to prevail.

Jonathan - What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?
AM - Get to know your band members and start a positive bond amoungst yourselves first and foremost. It also helps out having everyone in agreement (deep down) to what genre you guys want to play. Have a little money to put up and the rest writes itself.
Jonathan - For those who don’t know you, How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?
AM - Mainly our Facebook page:www.facebook.com/accidentallymurdered. We are on Reverbnation.com and those have a few songs up from our debut album which should be coming out this summer ('13). Demo cds are available at shows.
Jonathan - And the last question is all yours, you decide what to say here!
AM - Support your locals, wash your hands, and whatever happens... just KEEP ON GRINDIN'!!!!
