Mob 47 is a hardcore punk band which formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1982, originally under the name of "Censur". In 1983 the band members changed the name to what it's now called, "Mob 47", when singer Mentis entered the band. During their early years they played with the band Anti Cimex. They were influenced by bands such as Discharge, Crucifix, D.R.I., and B.G.K. They have been described as the fastest of the Swedish D-beat groups.
Guitarist and founding member Åke formed several other bands after and around the time of Mob 47. The bands Agoni, Röjers, Discard, Crudity, and Protes Bengt were featured with Mob 47 on the Stockholm's Mangel compilation in 1985. Some with other members of Mob 47, mostly the drummer Chrille. Per, vocalist of contemporary Swedish outfit Bruce Banner, is noted for singing in a number of these bands. Åke has continued to play and released a new Mob 47 demo playing solo with a drum machine in 1998.
In 2003 Speedstate Records in Japan released a two-CD official discography. In 2005 the band began to rehearse again. They did their first official gig in 20 years at Debaser, in Stockholm, 25 May 2006 and are working on some new material.
In September 2007, the band played their first shows outside Sweden, playing in London, Sheffield and Bradford England. In November 2007 Jugga decided to quit the band, and Mob 47 was once again a three-piece band.

Asmita - First of all, thanks a lot for interview, so what are you really looking forward from Nepali underground scene?
Mob 47 - Our pleasure that you are interested to do an interview with an old hardcore band from Sweden. We have never been to Nepal but we have heard that the underground scene is good and hope we have the opportunity to play there someday.
Asmita - Can I get the short biography of your band? And what is the meaning of Mob 47 exactly means to the band?
Mob 47 - Mob 47 was born 1983 and releasing the 11 song cassette ”Hardcore Attack” same year. In April 1984 we recorded 22 songs on a rented portable studio of which nine ended up on the ”Kärnvapen Attack” EP. All of our recordings are made in Bowling studio on which is actually the rehearsal space we had in a bowling alley. In 1985 we tried being a four piece band with a guy called Robban on vocals. We did a few gigs and recordings together but Robban left after only a few months. Tommy from a band called Crudity took his place.. Later that year Jögge decide to quit and the band dissolved not long after. Almost 20 years later we decided to get together again. The 2005 line up consisted of Johan on base, Jögge vocals, Åke guitar and Chrille drums. We recorded some new material in the summer of 2007 and in 2008 we release a new 7” “Dom Ljuger Igen“ Jugga left the band in November 2007 making MOB 47 a three piece once again. In October 2016 Johan decide to leave the band and from 2017 the new bass player is Christoffer Larsson. Mob stands for vapenförråd in Swedish “armoury storage” and 47 is just a number ;)
Asmita - What are the lyrical themes you use in your songs? gore, horror, politics, anti religion etc..
Mob 47 - Most of the songs is about the fear of War, Politics, Anti religion and Animal rights.
Asmita - How it feels to be in a Underground band? And what’s your message to underground community?
Mob 47 - Have fun, say what you want and you will never get to old for this shit hahaha.
Asmita - In general term extreme metal isn't appreciated by Society what do you have to say on this?
Mob 47 - They do not know what they miss, everyone has their taste but don’t talk shit about any music style. Everyone has the right to their own opinion.
Asmita - What is your opinion on the current state of extreme underground music?
Mob 47 - I think it's good, many new punk and grind bands are coming.
Asmita - Can you recommend us some good bands from your place for our readers?
Mob 47 - Yes Sweden have really great punk bands like Asocial, Crutches, Skitsystem, Avskum, Vidro and Voidfiller.
Asmita - Do you remember the feeling of your first show with Mob 47? and how did the crowd reacted to your first show?
Mob 47 - Can’t remember the first show I was to young then hahaha, but I remember that the crowd went out after two songs, it was too fast and noisy.
Asmita - What do you hate in current underground scene?
Mob 47 - I don’t hate, but I don’t like people that behave badly.
Asmita - Support Underground Metal, how much you agree on this quote?
Mob 47 - You don’t make any money to play underground music so it’s important to support the bands, go to shows and buy their merch.
Asmita - Any thought about touring or playing shows in Nepal and India?
Mob 47 - Yes we really want to play in Nepal and India but as I say we don’t make any money and the flights are too expensive for us, but you never know hopefully will the kids see Mob47 before we retire hehe.
Asmita - Lastly, a space for you anything EUMSN have forgotten to ask you can tell us here?
Mob 47 - Thanks for supporting us and hope to see you I the future and until that day check out our website, www.mob47.se
