Hello Anthony this is Vishal from EUMSN (a small group that are really into Extreme Metal from Nepal -http://www.facebook.com/EUMSN) !!
I hope i am not bothering you and also, with due respect to your music I want to ask you few questions for Extreme Underground Metal Society Of Nepal & Thanks for taking out some precious time for EUMSN.
Anthony: Hello Vishal, you are not bothering us at all, we appreciate you taking the time to axe us some questions. I have included our drummer Nate Flores in the interview so he can throw in his perspective as well! Josh Smith(Vocals) and Josh Cuchens(Guitar) are the other two members whom are not here at the moment and I am the guitarist as well.
Nate: Well this being my first interview I am quite excited, kinda fan-girling over here.

Vishal - What are you doing nowadays?
Anthony: We are actually in the process of releasing our debut album called "Fucked To Death" coming out in February on Ossuary Industries. We recently posted up our pre-orders. Its really awesome how people are responding so far!
Nate: I've mostly been working as much as I can, so I can afford beefing up my kit for our upcoming tour in September.
Vishal - Can i get the story of your band and biography? What is the meaning of Gutfucked exactly means to the band?
Anthony: Well we actually started playing grind music.
Nate: A lot of it is mostly just from us hanging out and bullshitting, while we do want it to be serious when it comes to the music, we all have a sense of humor.
Anthony: Yea we played 3 or 4 shows and there was such am awkward response. We didn't play for a few months and then decided we would actually start it as a real band and play the music we wanted to play which was death metal and slams. We have never really had a bass player hahaha. As far as our name goes, it was more of a joke, we came up with a list of ridiculous names and picked Gutfucked. We thought it was humorous but still mean sounding. After we changed styles we decided we still like the name and kept it. People ask us about the name all the time and make comments like "You'll never get famous with that name" and we are like "Well...yea" .
Vishal - What are the lyrical themes you use in your song?gore, horror, politics, anti religion etc..
Anthony: Our lyrics are mostly about mutilating women, seeing through the eyes of a killer, not justifying murder with more murder. I mainly write the lyrics but Josh(Vocals) wrote most of "Too Sick To Suck It" and Nate wrote "Crushed At The Imperial Hand".
Nate: Well, we all like gore, tits, Star Wars, and tits. So those are essentially the guidelines to most of the tracks. It was pretty killer getting to write lyrics to a track, so I immediately called the Star Wars song ha.
Anthony: We look at our lyrics as different horror stories, we don't take the themes to seriously. We aren't one of those bands that burns down churches or fucks bodies. Its all in fun.
Vishal - How it feels to be in a Underground band? And for how many years you are in this scene?
Anthony: I have been in the scene since I was like 13 years old hahaha, as far as Gutfucked goes, we have only been together for a little over a year and a half. I started out doing vocals in all kinds of different bands but picked up guitar when I was 19. I love being part of an underground scene, when we play with pretty popular bands its cool when they come up to us and say...."you guys are fucking heavy", whether they dig death metal or not it still feels pretty awesome.
Nate: I've wanted to be in a band since I was 14, so the fact that I could jam with some guys at all was awesome. The fact that this band is starting to get more attention whilst being brutal and still be that 14 year old kid at heart, having a blast every show, its just a really exceptional feeling.
Vishal - Which are the bands that have influenced your band most?
Anthony: Hahaha this is always a hard question to answer, I honestly have such a wide variety of music I am influenced by. All of us actually. Not one person in this bands solely likes just death metal. I like bands like Abominable Putridity, Dying Fetus, Pathology, Vomit the Soul, Pighead, Devourment, Cannibal Corpse, all the way to bands like Mr. Bungle, Between The Buried and Me, King Diamond and shit like that. I also dig a lot of weird shit. Oh and James Blunt.
Nate:Yeah, ill only probably list a couple so the entire interview isn't me fan-girling over every band I masturbated to. I definitely was influenced early on by Derek Roddy when he was with Hate Eternal and Nile, he was the main reason I wanted to start blasting in the first place, but aside from that a lot of Decrepit Birth and Decapitated, Suffocation was massive as far as guitar technique and just disgusting drumming all together.
Vishal - What are the future plans of Gutfucked? any tours, releases, recordings etc.
Anthony: As I was talking about earlier, we have our debut album "Fucked to Death" coming out early February on Ossuary Industries (Insert self marketing gimmick here), Pre-Orders are now up! Hahaha we also have a couple fests lined up. We are playing Las Vegas Death Fest 5 this year with Defeated Sanity and Devourment, we are co-headlining day one of Gut Fest 5 as well!
Nate: I'm super stoked for all the festivals we have lined up, its going to be the tits. Also we have a tour in the works for September later this year with Odiousembowel, Relics of Humanity, Esophagus, and Raped by Pigs!! I had to put exclamation marks, i want people to truly under stand how excited we are.
Anthony: As far as releases go we are writing material for a second album already and have the concepts drawn up in our heads, we hope to start recording that around July or August. We want to finish writing the tracks and get it perfect before going to a studio. There is also talk of doing a "Christmas special" or a "Star Wars" 4 track EP hahaha not 100 % sure just yet on that though haha!
Vishal - What is your opinion on sites posting Underground Materials?
Anthony: I think its awesome that there are people dedicated enough to brutal music that they start webpages and metal news pages. Its just gnarly to me knowing there are bands getting promotion solely from die-hard fans. Its crazy.
Nate:I will always support anything that truly spreads the word of any hardworking underground band.
Vishal - How do you feel about the classifications in metal? like deathcore, metalcore and other subgenres..
Anthony: I think its cool in one way but shitty in another. Its cool that you can just easily find bands with similar styles now but on the flip side of the turd covered coin is the people that get some weird pleasure out of bashing bands of these sub-genres. Ok I get it if you don't like a band, but why hate on it if it is making someone else happy? Metal is good as a whole, why pick it apart because its split up into categories that may have some aspects that you can't get into?
Nate:I think to a degree its necessary, the full spectrum of metal is astronomical. However much I may not like hearing every trivial aspect of a certain band to be taken mores seriously than the band as a whole, I do believe some clarification is expected.
Vishal - In general term metal isn't appreciated by Society what do you have to say on this?
Anthony: I am glad to a certain degree that it isn't well accepted, would it have the same passion and pure adrenaline it gives you if every other guy on the street liked it? I don't think so. I like that its underground, it shows who the real fans are.
Nate: Its nothing that wasn't expected, we talk about gore, rape, evisceration and tits. Naturally you're not going to have a fortune 500 company backing this, but at the same time that's what makes it sacred to those who enjoy it.
Vishal - Ok, what do you want to tell those peoples who rips off the band hard work and illegally downloads their music?
Anthony: Eh, well this is another one of those tough ones for me. Its a mixed feeling, its like "Fuck yea dude I am glad you really like our music" but in the other hand its like " ...ya coulda paid for it". I am also understanding of people that don't make much money and can't afford it. In those cases its like "Well fuck dude...here just take one". Its not that everyone in the industry is stingy dicks wanting to make a buck. We do this out of passion but at the same time we can't drive to the other side of the country off of facebook likes or the amount of plays our album has. Its a very confusing feeling because you want everyone to enjoy your album and sometimes that comes at a cost... to both fans and the band. Overall I would say please buy it, it does help out but if you can't...well thanks for digging us, I hope you buy a shirt lol.
Nate: No matter how much I may want things to change, I'm not going to cry over something I cannot change.
Anthony: Exactly, we more so just accept it and hope more people get into us.
Vishal - Beside Gutfucked do you have any other projects you have? If then, Can you tell us about those projects in few words?
Anthony: Hahahaha yea a few.. I also do vocals for another metal band, its not BDM or anything but it has elements from different styles, that band is called Your Last Memory, I am going to be doing vocals for the death metal band called Viscera in the next month. Also, Exophagy with Nate.
Nate: I actually play guitar for a band Exophagy with Tony. I'm hoping to meet some brutal people through Gutfucked and hopefully line up some other side projects.
Vishal - Is it hard surviving in underground Scene?
Anthony: Where we live it is for sure. There isn't a very big metal scene here. There definitely isn't a death metal scene hahaha. Its been really hard for the most part but we still get on shows....its just a really mixed show. Luckily we have had the opportunity to tour and establish a fanbase in other places. We couldn't be more happy to have the fans that we do have though!
Nate: However difficult it may be for us, we are pretty upbeat dudes, who make a disgusting amount of jokes. Yeah it sucks playing brutal death metal to a crowd who doesn't necessarily find blast beats as glorious as we do, but shows are too fun to just stop all together.
Vishal - Metal has to be underground or metal has to go mainstream, what's your opinion?
Anthony: It has to stay underground, it just wouldn't be the same if you saw Suffocation play the VMA's. I think it would be cool if it was bigger but I think if it ever went Lady Gaga status it would just be a joke at that point.
Nate: First things first...I would totally watch those VMA's, but even if metal somehow burst into the mainstream the music would still be the same. If Insidious Decrepancy was on TLR Befouling the Adoration of Christ would still be a crushing tune, no matter if 6 people heard it or 6 million, the track will still kill.
Anthony: Well Nate, you kiss boys.
Nate: But only at the VMA's watching Suffocation.
Vishal - What is your opinion on the current state of underground metal?
Anthony: In our area it sucks lol but overall and over the internet its really fucking cool how close the death metal community is. Yea there are a lot of elitist pricks out there ruining peoples day but fuck em'.. I like how together it is.
Nate: I think its doing quite well, there are plenty of killer shows, festivals and tours happening. Coupled with all the amazing bands starting upping the standard for a ridiculously amazing album, I think its going to drive everything to continually get better.
(Gutfucked now pauses to load another bowl)
Vishal - Which is the album you want to take to your grave?
Anthony: (Exhales smoke) Barbera Streisand Greatest Hits Volume 2 or Between The Buried and Me's untitled album(the first one) or Gorerotted's Only Tools and Corpses.
Nate: Not pulling any punches with the questions huh haha, I'd say Inveracity's "Circle of Perversion"
Vishal - Can you recommend us some good bands from your country for our readers?
Anthony: Swine Overlord, Necrosectomy, Devourment, Pathology, Disgorge, Short Bus Pileup, Visceral Disgorge, and Abnormality.
Nate: Cerebral Incubation, Disgorge, Inanimate Existence, Dying Fetus, and Decrepit Birth
Vishal - Support Underground Metal, how much you agree on this quote?
Anthony: To infinite and beyond... but for real 100 %. Its the support that keeps the metal alive!
Nate: Well I'm glad you asked Vishal. To infinite and beyo.....oh...fuck. A lot.
Vishal - Where do our readers can buy and listen Gutfucked and any other merchandise?
Anthony: You can check out a few songs we have up on our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gutfucked/179445378750675?sk=app_2405167945) or our Youtube videos(https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8jxjM3rz3yE ....and.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCQhi5dSUkI&feature=youtu.be ). We also have the album "Fucked To Death up for preorder (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gutfucked/179445378750675?sk=app_150765388410200). Nate:
Yeah its totally a big deal, you should tell your friends, and have your friends tell their friends, and at the end of the day there will be a whooole bunch of friends knowing.
Vishal - Do you remember your first show with Gutfucked, How was it and how did the crowd reacted to your first show?
Anthony: Hahahaha our first show was the worst... there were like 5 people and you can tell they all wanted to be somewhere else hahahaha. This was back when we were playing grind. Fun show just for the faces hahahaha!
Nate: Haha yeah I remember no one knew what blast beats where, great show, no people all laughs, it was beautiful.
Anthony: Yea we played our whole set too. It was like looking at a rape victim during the rape.
Vishal - Metal Fans from Nepal doesn't have a proper way to reach your records and any other such bands, Is there an easy way so we can also get the hold of cds, shirts etc.
Anthony: I know our record label Ossuary Industries shipped worldwide. Their webstore is located here. (http://www.ossuaryindustries.bigcartel.com/)
Vishal - Do you have any plans to come to Nepal in coming days?
Anthony: Nothing planned yet but we are hoping our future has playing around the world, including Nepal, in it!
Vishal - What do you hate in Underground Metal?like, anything..
Anthony: Elitist douchebags, know it alls, and stuck ups. Not getting free bar tabs hahaha.
Nate: I'd also have to say the elitists, its no good if you can jam the shit out of Severed Savior but not 80's pop. A lack of exposed female tits in metal.
Vishal - Your dream metal fest line up.
Anthony: All of the bands we listen to in a 2 week festival that we get to watch....playing would be cool but watching every band we like is better. Also the concession stand only sells Taco Bell and its free for me because I won the quarter game.
Nate: Probably every band from Unique leader, Comatose, Ossuary Industries, and Sevared Records on the same fest, also 2 weeks, only this time it would be in the fall, because it would feel oh so nice. Also booze, weed and tit dispensaries.
Vishal - Quick top 5 albums we must have in our collection.
Nate: Insidious Decrepancy - Extirpating Omniscient Certitude. Decapitated - Nihility, Deeds of Flesh - Of Whats to Come. Decrepit Birth - ...And Time Begins. Abominable Putridity - Anomalies of Artificial Origin.
Anthony: A second copy of Deeds of Flesh - Of Whats to come, in case your first one gets a scratch. A copy of Gorerotted - Only Tools and Corpses. A copy of Dying Fetus - Descend into Depravity. A copy of Pighead - Cadaver Mutilator. A copy of Between the Buried and Me's debut album....so diverse and pretty slammy.
Vishal - Lastly, a space for you anything EUMSN have forgotten to ask you can tell us here?
Anthony: We really appreciate you taking the time to ask us some cool questions and if anybody digs what they hear or you see us live, come talk to us and shit. We ain't dicks or buttholes. Also listen to our album, buy it....feel it deep inside you.
Nate: You guys are good people, you do a service to both the metal scene and its fans, and for that we dick spar in your honor.
Anthony: Oh and... Whoop that Trick. We want to thank Brian at Ossuary Industries!!
