Asmita - First of all, thanks a lot for interview, so what are you really looking forward from Nepali underground scene? Vicious Circle - No problem Eumsn i’d say the main thing is to communicate and if people are interested they can check VICIOUS CIRCLE music out past and present. From what I gather there is a growing scene in NEPAL and INDIA of music from punk rock to death metal and everything in between. Which means people want to express themselves by making heavy music and having an outlet, which is a great thing.
Asmita - Can I get the short biography of your band? And what is the meaning of Vicious Circle exactly means to the band? Vicious Circle -VICIOUS CIRCLE formed in 1983 In Melbourne , AUSTRALIA at the time of the bands formation l think it was mainly boredom that drew us together and wanting to do something we could call our own, just a bunch of kids from different backgrounds who shared similar musical tastes and ideas. Since then VICIOUS CIRCLE recorded our first single in 1984 SEARCH FOR THE SOLUTIONthen in 1985 we released our first album THE PRICE OF PROGRESS. Over the decades we have released 15 ALBUMS , multiple singles, eps and been featured on compilation albums all over the world. Toured AMERICA, ASIA, EUROPE, UNITED KINGDOM, NEW ZEALAND and played extensively through AUSTRALIA . Obviously when you do something for such a long time you change and grow as an individual, for me the band has always been an outlet for creativity and expression, l am not worried about trends or fads they come and go. The most important aspect is to believe in yourself and what your doing, always try to maintain a positive outlook. You need to have fun, keep learning. I have met so many good people doing this, that's a true gift. Also you need to laugh and at times not take yourself too seriously life is far to short.
VICIOUS CIRCLE are PAUL/ VOCALS YETI/ GUITAR CRAIG DRUMS KARL BASs
Asmita - What are the lyrical themes you use in your songs? Gore, horror, politics, anti religion etc..
Vicious Circle - Mainly self determination, a way to convey ideas and observations with lyrics about situations you see wrong or want to question with your own perspective or thoughts. l see to much hatred, greed, in our culture. Humans from an evolutionary point of view really need to get their shit together. So much damage has been done to the planet and life/ forms, for me the best thing I can do is live by example, you can't change anything in this world until you change yourself. Politicians,Religions, Conglomerates , Banks, Industrialists, when it comes down to it they are all people. What they leave or dont leave behind effects future generations. I actually think a lot of decisions wouldnt come to fruition if the impacts or negative outcomes directly affected those making the decisions. l am for the rights of others to exist without condemnation or torture simply because they have a differant life style, sexual prefrence, culture. With my words l like people to think or question whats going on around them, in the end what they take from it is their choice. At the same time I realise how absurd life can be so sometimes you need to laugh,It's either that or go crazy
Asmita - How it feels to be in an Underground band? And what’s your message to underground community?
Vicious Circle -l think with any form of underground music you must enjoy what you are doing and do what feels right for you , as individuals you're in control, if people get involved who are primarily in it for money or selfish reasons,it won't last , how can it when your building or creating something on a superficial level, some ridiculous concept of making the big time, maybe it will have some initial success but eventually it will turn to crap. The mainstream is filled with rubbish. To anyone forming a band or any other creative outlet, believe in yourself, it's that simple and if you are determined you will find a way. It takes a lot of work, nothing worthwhile rarely happens quickly.
Asmita - In general term extreme metal isn't appreciated by Society what do you have to say on this?
Vicious Circle - People sometimes just don't get it they may have misconceptions or ideas that people are violent or aggressive simply because they dress or listen to music they don't understand. Or their value system makes them prejudice because the person in question is different. If they took the time to talk or know what the person is about that might radically change that opinion. That's part of the path of doing something you enjoy or believe in, not everyones going to get it.
Asmita - What is your opinion on the current state of extreme underground music?
Vicious Circle -I think there will always be new bands and individuals pushing boundaries that's part of it as long as there are people picking up instruments and discovering music it will keep evolving . new music is being made all over the world by kids who get pissed off with authority figures, etc or they just want to create something .Or new bands forming , so it just keeps evolving.
Asmita - Can you recommend us some good bands from your place for our readers?
Vicious Circle -Okay these are bands from AUSTRALIA some PUNK, HARDCORE, DEATH METAL, THRASH, GRIND,STREET PUNK, etc 100 YEARS WAR,BLUNT SHOVEL, BIRDCAGE,DARKHORSE,RUST,BLOWHOLE, PERDITION,MAGGOT BATH,ABRASIVE ACTION, UNBOUND,DESECRATOR,KMART WARRIORS,COFFIN,HARD ONS,ENZYME,BLOOD DUSTER,MINDSNARE,TOE TO TOE,STRAIGHT TO A TOMB,ROCKS,ANXIETY NATION,I HATE PEOPLE, ALREADY DEAD,PROTOSPASM,STITCHED UP,PLAN OF ATTACK,DEAD ROOT,EXTORTION,SHATTER BRAIN,HIDDEN INTENT,ALKIRA,PISSCHRIST,SHOT POINT BLANK,SAMSARA.BATTLETRUK,IRON MIND,DEPRESSION,TEARGAS,REAPER,AGAINST,COLD GROUND,CIVIL DISSIDENT,BORED,SUBVERSION,GASH,CURSED EARTH,A.V.O,H BLOCK 101,THE DEAD WALK,DROPSAW.
Asmita - Do you remember the feeling of your first show with Vicious Circle? and how did the crowd reacted to your first show?
Vicious Circle -That was a long time ago but l was very nervous and trying to remember the words to the songs, then it just went by like the blink of an eye, l thought it was terrible, however people came up afterwards and said they enjoyed it. I think that shocked me.I was just a kid and glad no one threw anything at me.To this day l always get nervous before a gig. l think when l don't I'll know it's time to give it up, l need to feed of that adrenaline, it was at a venue in Melbourne called the Seaview Ballroom, which has long since closed. VICIOUS CIRCLE played that venue many times in the 80s and saw some iconic shows, a lot of punk bands played that venue in the 70s l saw the DEAD KENNEDYS, IGGY POP, PIL, SICK THINGS, DEPRESSION,THE SAINTS,ROSE TATTOO, THE ZORROS, Z CARS, RESIDENTS, I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVY, LA FEMME ,NEW CHRISTS, CORPSE GRINDERS,END RESULT,CIVIL DISSIDENT,ARM THE INSANE,etc
Asmita - What do you hate in current underground scene?
Vicious Circle -I don't hate anything ,no point really would be a waste of time. People are always going to have different opinions or likes, that's just the way things are .Achieves nothing getting hung up about it.
Asmita - Support Underground Metal, how much you agree with this quote?
Vicious Circle -I think it's important support underground music as a whole , punk, metal,[other forms of independent music] bands, people ,labels, studios, venues, clubs, radio, mags webzines, photographers, individuals who put their heart into creating something from nothing independently through their own means.
Asmita - Any thoughts about touring or playing shows in Nepal and India?
Vicious Circle - NEPAL and INDIA currently we have no plans but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen, you never know.
Asmita - Lastly, a space for you anything EUMSN have forgotten to ask you can tell us here?
Vicious Circle - Thanks for the interview l will send links so people can go to bandcamp or youtube and listen to albums or songs for free. Be well

Mob 47 is a hardcore punk band which formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1982, originally under the name of "Censur". In 1983 the band members changed the name to what it's now called, "Mob 47", when singer Mentis entered the band. During their early years they played with the band Anti Cimex. They were influenced by bands such as Discharge, Crucifix, D.R.I., and B.G.K. They have been described as the fastest of the Swedish D-beat groups.
Guitarist and founding member Åke formed several other bands after and around the time of Mob 47. The bands Agoni,Röjers, Discard, Crudity, and Protes Bengt were featured with Mob 47 on the Stockholm's Mangel compilation in 1985. Some with other members of Mob 47, mostly the drummer Chrille. Per, vocalist of contemporary Swedish outfit Bruce Banner, is noted for singing in a number of these bands. Åke has continued to play and released a new Mob 47 demo playing solo with a drum machine in 1998.
In 2003 Speedstate Records in Japan released a two-CD official discography. In 2005 the band began to rehearse again. They did their first official gig in 20 years at Debaser, in Stockholm, 25 May 2006 and are working on some new material.
In September 2007, the band played their first shows outside Sweden, playing in London, Sheffield and Bradford England. In November 2007 Jugga decided to quit the band, and Mob 47 was once again a three-piece band.

Asmita - First of all, thanks a lot for interview, so what are you really looking forward from Nepali underground scene?
Mob 47 - Our pleasure that you are interested to do an interview with an old hardcore band from Sweden. We have never been to Nepal but we have heard that the underground scene is good and hope we have the opportunity to play there someday.
Asmita - Can I get the short biography of your band? And what is the meaning of Mob 47 exactly means to the band?
Mob 47 - Mob 47 was born 1983 and releasing the 11 song cassette ”Hardcore Attack” same year. In April 1984 we recorded 22 songs on a rented portable studio of which nine ended up on the ”Kärnvapen Attack” EP. All of our recordings are made in Bowling studio on which is actually the rehearsal space we had in a bowling alley. In 1985 we tried being a four piece band with a guy called Robban on vocals. We did a few gigs and recordings together but Robban left after only a few months. Tommy from a band called Crudity took his place.. Later that year Jögge decide to quit and the band dissolved not long after. Almost 20 years later we decided to get together again. The 2005 line up consisted of Johan on base, Jögge vocals, Åke guitar and Chrille drums. We recorded some new material in the summer of 2007 and in 2008 we release a new 7” “Dom Ljuger Igen“ Jugga left the band in November 2007 making MOB 47 a three piece once again. In October 2016 Johan decide to leave the band and from 2017 the new bass player is Christoffer Larsson. Mob stands for vapenförråd in Swedish “armoury storage” and 47 is just a number ;)
Asmita - What are the lyrical themes you use in your songs? gore, horror, politics, anti religion etc..

Mob 47 - Have fun, say what you want and you will never get to old for this shit hahaha.
Asmita - In general term extreme metal isn't appreciated by Society what do you have to say on this?
Mob 47 - They do not know what they miss, everyone has their taste but don’t talk shit about any music style. Everyone has the right to their own opinion.
Asmita - What is your opinion on the current state of extreme underground music?
Mob 47 - I think it's good, many new punk and grind bands are coming.
Asmita - Can you recommend us some good bands from your place for our readers?

Asmita - First
of all, thanks a lot for interview, so what are you really looking forward from
Nepal underground scene?
Pisakas - Our
pleasure!! Thanks for your time. Stoked to see so many killer bands popping out
from the crypts of Nepal.
We want to see more gigs and hang out with lots of other underground bands from
the local as well as other parts of the world to come and experience the
extremity and to put the scene in the
global extreme metal arena. Can't wait to meet our mongols and enjoy!!
Asmita - Can I
get the short biography of your band? And what is the meaning of Pisakas
exactly
means to the band?
Pisakas - Well,
Pisakas is a word from the Indian mythology which signifies demons that feast
on dead corpses.
It essentially can be linked to common Hindi word in use “Pishachas”. We were
basically searching for a name that had an Indian origin but still was uncommon
or had an element of mystery to it. We also had a fair idea about what we like
to project as a band and this name just fit very well to the bands identity. We
initially started as a death-thrash band in 2009 and later forayed into the
death metal scene of Bangalore. This was after about 2-3 years of our formation
when we crossed paths with Pranaw. During that period, there was a gradual
change in our sonic impact and we swayed more in to extreme metal and finally
stuck to old school death metal brutality. We played in a lot of underground
gigs in India and Nepal over these years and released our debut EP titled
‘Nefarious Exigency’ in 2015. After which prior to some months our rhythm
guitarist, Nilesh, had to quit the band and we became a 3 piece band as of present.
After which in 2018 we released our debut album “Fabricated Animosity”
independently via bandcamp and we are yet to unleash the new beast LIVE soon.
Asmita - What are
the lyrical themes you use in your songs? Gore, horror, politics, anti religion
etc..
Pisakas - Our
themes include Atrocities in the society, anti-religion, genocide, terrorism,
war crimes, apocalypse and gore.
Asmita - How
it feels to be in an Underground band? And what’s your message to underground
community?
Pisakas - It
was always the DIY attitude we carried throughout our lives, so the good
feeling is not just for being in the band but the lifestyle as a whole. It was
more of putting our thoughts and lifestyle choices into our music. The only
message we can give is that there are no rules and set processes. Do what needs
to be done and do it your own way and in your own terms.Let your passion drive
you to find out DIY ways to do anything and please dont care about likes and
all that fancy ass shit. Trends will die but a sick composition will live on
for eternity!!
Asmita - In
general term extreme metal isn't appreciated by Society what do you
have to say on this?
Pisakas – Extreme
metal was not supposed to be appreciated by society at the first place thats
why its
extreme!!! But we see a lot of bands pushing it hard to
be heard, to be marketed and promoted, to be
labelled, to be accepted by all. I mean COMMON!!! Extreme
metal is not meant for acceptance but for deliverance of raw aggression and honesty to express the
bands ideas. Its this type of extreme genre that has prevented the mainstream to infiltrate as
termites to eat away the true passion from inside out.We say, please, less people more FUN!!
Asmita - What
is your opinion on the current state of extreme underground music?
Pisakas - There
was and will always be the underground lurking somewhere in the shadows being
heard
by only a finite group of people passionate about it and
making sure its being distributed to other
people who actually listen and love this genre rather
then just for the sake of promoting. It will always grow stronger each day and we hope more people with
serious intentions giving it a shot and become a part of our small but extreme family.
Asmita - Can you recommend us some good bands from your
place for our readers?
Asmita - Do you remember the feeling of
your first show with Pisakas ? And how did the crowd reacted to your first show?
Pisakas - Oh
it was one of those cliche cultural festival opening shows where we were young,
drunk and ready to rock. We started as a death thrash so lot of
sepultura covers and few OC’s. It was a jam
packed venue but hardly anyone ever realized or
comprehended what the flying fuck is going on in the stage!!!
Asmita - What do you hate in current underground scene?
Pisakas - Hipsters,Trendy
shit, crying like a bitch over recording studios, labels, mainstream promotion, need for acceptance for the bands from the masses etc.
Asmita - Support Underground Metal, how much you agree
with this quote?
Pisakas - 100
percent!!. Support and share(Not just FB share but actually sitting with same
interest peeps and talking about it)!!
Asmita - Any
thoughts about touring or playing shows in Nepal and India?
Pisakas - We
generally do not do a lot of shows due to logistics and members situated over
long distances from each other but we are currently planning for a gig
in Nepal soon. It will also be the official album launch gig after a year and a half of releasing.
Can't wait!!!
Asmita - Lastly,
a space for you anything EUMSN have forgotten to ask you can tell us here?
Pisakas - Full
support and Love to our mongols in EUMSN. You guys have set a terrific
benchmark for other asian countries and we love all that you do for promoting and
organizing gigs for the underground to people who love it!!Keep going and Nepal Underground is not far
away from being the monster of this world!!
